Indiana Jones and the Lost Tomb Lego Set. Review
The next step up the ladder for the Indiana Jones Lego sets is the $19.99 price point Indiana Jones and the Lost Tomb.
Ringing in with 277 pieces, though when all five of the parts bags were emptied out, and certainly after the hour of
diligent assembly time, there was some doubt that the count was so low, but no doubt that this set gives you your money's
worth!
You get three Lego figures with this set: Indiana Jones, Marion and an undead! The Skeleton is particularly awesome, being composed of snap together, mostly see-through-bone type parts. He looks pretty imposing too! Indy is the same as the previous set, and will certainly join a large group of such figures by the time all of the sets are opened. At least there are a few waiting in the wings if one has diarrhea during filming... Marion seemed to be the weakest character to me when I was looking at this set in pictures, as it seemed that they had over emphasized her open mouth, making it look more like some Raul Julia moustache , but in person they perhaps toned it down, and the figure has that just-right level of terrified grimace. The set has a great design, and while small I don't feel it suffers from that at all. Everything feels perfectly proportioned and well designed, and the stickers lend a great temple feel to the whole works. There were even some left over stickers that I found the perfect homes for, which was maybe the intention all along! The set has two major 'action' features: dumping the snakes and tipping the statues. Both of these features work perfectly, pouring snakes down on the two adventurers with a well designed, rubber hinged trap door, or allowing a heavy Lego Anubis to crash through the back wall of the set. The right hand wall even reveals the undead guard, swinging from a chain, ready for chasin'! Oh, and did I fail to mention...it includes the Ark of the Convenant! Overall, another great entry in the Lego Indiana Jones series. Lots of play value, great design, and your own non-mustached Marion figure. Snakes, why'd it have to be snakes??! (because it's awesome!) Toy Data
