Zero to One, by Peter Thiel
A solid and important book from an historically successful Silicon Valley exec
of much lore. Interestingly his big take-away point is that the long standing
myth of "healthy competition" is bogus, and in fact a competitive market is one
in which it will be very challenging to be successful. Better to find the innovation,
carve out your own spot, and push hard to succeed.
He is quick to point out that there is no formula for this, since by definition the
big successes come from forging new ground, but his outlines and discussion of what
worked for him are tremendouly helpful, and something all would-be entrepreneurs should
certainly read, probably several times!
