Bridge of Birds - by Barry Hughart
One of the most enjoyable reads I've had in a long time. Hughart does an
amazing job of replicating the tone and pace of a classic chinese short story, and the whole
read feels like a really special and rare one-off that will be hard to repeat.
Better still - it was first published in 1984 - the greatest year!
Plus, I've already gotten to use the quote "I have a slight flaw in my character" -
I recommend this book with great enthusiasm!
